ChurchillCSD Pre-Kindergarten Qualifications

3-year-old Program

The child must be at least 3 by August 01, 2024. The 3-year-old program is designed for students who are English Language Learners. Non-English Language Learners will be placed on a waiting list and filled with space available after the school year starts. Acceptance letters will be sent after July 14th

4-year-old Program 

The Child must be 4 years old by August 01, 2024.
Family must meet Nevada Ready! State Pre-Kindergarten Education Program income guidelines for the 4-year-old program.

Additional Qualifications for BOTH Programs: 

  1. Child and family must reside in Churchill County, NV
  2. Child’s completed Pre-Kindergarten Application (forms and required supporting documents) must be submitted to and received by Churchill County School District:
  3. To apply for our preschool program, mail or hand deliver your child’s application: 
    Before June 7th:

Additional Information about the 4-year-old Pre-Kindergarten Program

  • This is a FREE pre-kindergarten program funded by federal and state grant funds, for qualified children and families up to the maximum funded capacity.
     
  • Days and hours of operation for the 4-year-old program:
    • Monday – Thursday, hours of operation to be determined. (Subject to change)
       
  • Breakfast and lunch are provided to enrolled children in the 4-year-old program at no cost.
     
  • Families are determined eligible for preschool funding based on their verified family size, total annual gross income, and the maximum allowable income for eligibility. The maximum allowable income is determined by the Poverty Guideline, issued each January in the Federal Register by the Department of Health and Human Services and is available at www.hhs.gov. As a guide, the chart below shows the 2024 Poverty Guideline and maximum allowable income for funding count eligibility. Applicants not meeting income eligibility requirements will be placed on a waiting list of non-eligible applicants to be filled on a space-available basis after the start of the school year.
